WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK AT ELLESTEDET

The hot spot

A new start for women and children exposed to violence

Working at Ellestedet is more than just a job. It is an opportunity to be creative and design hope for change for the women and children who are in a difficult life situation after being exposed to violence or threats of violence. As the philosopher Løgstrup describes it so well, "The individual never has anything to do with another human being without holding something of their life in his or her hand". At Ellestedet, we are very conscious of the fact that we hold each other's hands, and we find that working with us is truly life-changing.
We are a proud social enterprise on a mission to offer women and children a free and safe life without violence. We think holistically and creatively, and we don't wait for change - we create it together with the women and children who come to us. Therefore, we are constantly aware of areas for development in our own practice, in relation to collaboration with other actors and the surrounding community. This requires us to be honest and curious about our own professionalism and reality, so that we constantly strengthen our own foundation and adapt to the demands, trends and needs we encounter in our work. We orient ourselves in the latest research, have a broad professional collaboration and also launch our own initiatives with the aim of optimizing professional practice in the field in general.

OUR EMPLOYEE SAYS

our employees

Ellestedet's most important resource is our talented employees. We want to ensure that all employees can achieve a healthy work-life balance that can support their current priorities and shine a light on their next steps. We are constantly working to help bring out the best in all our employees by offering opportunities for development. This is done through daily collaboration, including with management, through training and regular supervision. It is especially important to us that everyone who works at Ellestedet feels that they have a lot of professional freedom and are empowered to take action. It must be safe to put forward ideas, to voice your opinion, to be vulnerable and to launch initiatives. In this way, we create space for each employee to use their full potential and develop in the best possible way. On a daily basis, this individual strength and passion translates into teamwork and shared drive.
We want to be known as a safe, inclusive and responsible workplace with lots of warmth, laughter and joy. Our values are not just lip service, but integrated into the way we work. For us, it is to be trustworthy, inspired and present in our work with our fellow human beings.

Thanks to our employees, we are proud to have achieved Great Place to Work certification®™ 2023-2024.

Today is Women's Day, and of course we celebrate it at Ellestedet in our own quiet way. Country singer Maj-Britt Nikolajsen from Funen will stop by with her guitar and her warm voice to soften our hearts. Last Friday, we went on a journey towards the sun in the heliotropic universe in Module 5 of the program, which is also part of the project of the same name: A natural approach to working with vulnerable people. This time, light was shed on how a positive and constructive ontology and habitus is the necessary driving force that makes it possible to work persistently, caringly and effectively in relational/social work, including with the knowledge and tools that have been in play in the previous modules. We gained insight into our thought streams, negativity bias and how to actively influence the brain to think more positively and constructively. All of this is crucial when working with other people, as well as for the work environment and, of course, your own well-being and development as an employee/person. It was intense, thought-provoking and relevant. We ended and left with the feeling of having opened up something very important, which now needs to be allowed to grow stronger and stronger. We are now looking forward to 6 months of exploring the themes from the 5 modules and slowly integrating it into our work at Ellestedet, for the benefit of our residents.Together with our partner Natur og Eksistens, we will continuously update from this process via SoMe, but if you are more curious about the program and the project it is part of, you are more than welcome to contact us. #Ellestedet #Women's Crisis Center #krisecenterfyn #naturogeksistens
